5 Minutes with Jordan Findlay

This month we’re shining a light on one of our favourite accountants Jordan Findlay.

Jordan AT WORK

Why accounting?

I enjoy working in an industry that is constantly changing and evolving. In this modern digital age, there are many advances in technology that requires further learning, which keeps me on my toes and the job exciting and challenging! I’m never doing the same thing for very long.

What do you love about your job?

I love working with a wide variety of businesses and building meaningful, close and fulfilling relationships with clients.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

‘To not sweat the small stuff’, “Believe in yourself” and “Treat others the way you want to be treated” which I think for me applies to life and not just my work life or personal life.

How would you describe what you do to a five-year-old child?

To my 4-year-old son, it goes something like… “Mummy works in an office on a computer…uses her calculator a lot…and drinks a lot of coffee! She also helps people with their business(es) and money”

Jordan AT HOME

How will you be spending Christmas day?

We will have breaky at home and spend the morning unwrapping presents.  We then have lunch family, and apart from being in a food coma, if the weather is nice, we normally get out the slip and slide and sprinklers and let the kids run amock. We then have dinner plans which will involve some good old-fashioned back yard cricket!

Where’s your favourite place in the world?

Wherever I’m surrounded by my family and friends. We’re heading off on a family holiday in early January to Bright and I’m looking forward to switching off and slowing down and to just be present with my loved ones (+ eating my weight in ice cream from the local ice creamery!)

What’s your view on re-gifting presents?

This is a hard one… I’d say it’s a no deal. We are big donators to the Salvation Army (my husband is a serial declutterer!!)

What’s on the top of your Christmas wish list this year?

All I want for Christmas is a sleep in….!! In all seriousness I don’t have a ‘wish list’ but am most excited to see the magic of Christmas through my children’s eyes (Parker 4, Remi 2). Parker has been compiling his Christmas list from catalogues for over a month!!!

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?

Don’t judge me……it would have to be one of the Kar-Jenners, just for a day!
